Youth Turning Increasingly Vulnerable To Hypertension: PHTL

Thirty percent of country’s urban population, aged 18 or above and 20 percent of their rural counterparts are suffering from hypertension or high blood pressure, a major cause of several non-communicable diseases, said Pakistan Hypertension League official here on Monday

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th May, 2018 ) :Thirty percent of country’s urban population, aged 18 or above and 20 percent of their rural counterparts are suffering from hypertension or high blood pressure, a major cause of several non-communicable diseases, said pakistan Hypertension League official here on Monday.

Prof. Mohammad Ishaq, a known cardiologist and General Secretary of PHTL addressing a seminar organized by Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) said that high blood pressure identified as a silent killer has emerged to be one of the major health conditions in the country.
