Legislation360, New York (August 9, 2017, 1:-LRB-*********************) PM EDT) — Vitamin Shoppe Inc. has falsely advertised that a dietary supplement can lead to weight loss when the product’s active ingredients have no such benefits, based on a proposed class action removed to California federal court Tuesday. Andrea Nathan said the business’s Garcinia Cambogia Extract dietary supplement claims to facilitate “weight control” and “appetite control,” but its only active components, hydroxycitric acid and chromium, “are scientifically proven to be incapable of supplying such weight-loss benefits.”
