To help increase cash to build a brand new Conestoga hut for homeless veterans, Triple Cross Motorbike Ministry and Group Supported Shelters are joining forces to carry the Homeless Vet Awareness Run on Saturday. The motorbike journey poker run’s aim is to build a new hut for the veterans’ camp at Eugene Mission on West First Avenue, which hosts 13 veterans. “It’s not about this religion or that religion; it’s about strolling the stroll and doing for others,” stated Bob Chambers, member of Triple Cross Motorbike Ministry and event organizer. The occasion, which features a lunch and stay music, revs up at Latus Motors Harley-Davidson store, 86441 School View Street, with rider registration at 9 a.m. Poker run begins at 10:15 a.m. Lunch begins at noon with stay music from The Viper Cats Rockabilly, Cherry and the Lowboys and Jimmy Haggard Band.
