High blood pressure: Slash it with this £2 juice | Health | Life & Style

Blood pressure is measured as the force that blood is pumped around your body against the resistance to blood flow from blood vessels.

Measured by your GP, high blood pressure is anything over 140/90mmHg.

You are more at risk of developing the condition if you are overweight, eat too much salt or are over 65, among other factors.

It is possible to lower your blood pressure by making changes to your diet and lifestyle.

The British Heart Foundation says that drinking a large glass of beetroot juice every day could lower your blood pressure.

“Drinking a cup of beetroot juice each day could significantly lower the blood pressure of people with high blood pressure,” said the British Heart Foundation on its website.
