High blood pressure: Bright red £1 food can slash BP reading | Health | Life & Style

High blood pressure is a reading of 140/90mmHg or higher, according to the NHS.

You are more at risk if you lead an unhealthy lifestyle, are overweight or eat too much salt.

People with the condition are usually diagnosed through a regular check up by their GP, and are often unaware they have the condition as symptoms will only show in extreme cases.

Treatment for high blood pressure includes medication such as tablets, changing your lifestyle and changing your diet to be more healthy.

Dr Sarah Brewer, medical nutritionist, recommends adding tomatoes to your diet as they are a good source of potassium.
